In pictures: Taking to Austin's streets to reward fans for their support

Ahead of the United States Grand Prix, we took the streets of Austin to meet fans, hear your stories of fandom and reward your incredible support.

We hear you, Austin.

We gave each of the fans we met a limited edition Fernando Alonso United States Grand Prix cap in return for their stories of fandom.

A unique reward for a unique story, with each cap different from the next due to no two caps featuring an identical pattern.

"We went to the United States Grand Prix for the first time last year. It was just as amazing as we thought it was going to be. Seeing the cars go through Turns Six, Seven and the Esses at the COTA. It was incredible."

"I first heard about the Circuit of The Americas (COTA), when I moved to Austin two years ago. Then I found 'Drive to Survive' – that's how I got into the sport. When COTA is in your backyard, you have to get into the sport. There's so much adrenaline. It's amazing seeing the drivers give their all out on the track."

"I helped to bring the track to Austin. I know the guy who designed it. Hermann Tilke, He's a friend of mine."

"When 'Drive to Survive' came out, I realised that there's so much more behind all the storylines. I'm a fan of all the teams."

"We have to wake up here in the US at like 06:00 to watch the European races. I'm just like, 'OK, what's gonna happen?' Because who knows, really?"

"I worked at COTA for a little bit so I got to work a Grand Prix and was standing there watching the F1 cars and was like, 'Oh, this is pretty cool.'"

"I love the community that you build around a certain team that you're rooting for. It was fun getting my fans into F1 and we're super excited for the United States Grand Prix."

"F1 is a great a way to get to know more and more people. When F1 came to Austin a few years ago, that's when I really got into the sport. I've met a lot of people through the sport."

"F1 is something I've really got into since being in my wheelchair. I've always wanted to work in F1."

"We're here for the United States Grand Prix. We'll be watching the race from Turn 19. We're really excited it's our first race."

"There's just a really strong sense of community. Like, I just met these people literally yesterday and it's just such a cool experience and I never would have done this without F1."

"A passion for F1 is something me and my dad share. I started watching when I was three with him, and that was kind of like our Saturday morning, Sunday morning thing that we would do. He'd make us breakfast and we'd watch the race together because I was always up before my mum and my sister."

"F1 is so exciting, so action-packed. The racing is always fun. The technical side and everything, it's so cool."

"I got into F1 through a buddy. He told me about it during the pandemic. I was really into technology so the speed of the race and how everything's precise and how everything has to be on point, I love that about the sport."

"I look at someone like Fernando Alonso, who's had this storied career and just doesn't quit. I love to watch what he's doing with the team."

"I love Lance Stroll. I'm a Canadian, so I have to vote for my boy there. I love the entire setup we have with AMF1 Team."
