Back in the driving seat. The best photos from AMF1 Reserve and Development Driver Felipe Drugovich's latest F1 test in the AMR21 at Silverstone Circuit.
The reigning FIA Formula 2 champion took to the track on Wednesday as he continues his driver development programme, honing his skills both in and out of the cockpit of an F1 car.
It marked his first time behind the wheel of an F1 car since the Bahrain pre-season test in February, when he stood in for Lance who was injured, but it was not the Brazilian’s first time in the AMR21.
In November last year, less than two months after being crowned FIA Formula 2 Champion, Felipe drove the AMR21 – his first outing in an F1 car – and completed more than 300km of running to secure his Super Licence.
Although Felipe’s latest F1 test was interrupted by rain, when conditions improved, he completed plenty of laps of the 5.891km circuit located just a stone’s throw away from the AMF1 factory.
The test was another valuable opportunity for Felipe to further his experience of F1 machinery, develop and grow his skills behind the wheel and further embed himself into the team, working closely with the engineers and mechanics throughout the day.
