We've been making a mark with our tour of the United Kingdom, visiting hospitals in Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, London and Bristol with our F1 showcar and members of our driver squad, to meet young patients and NHS staff. Find out more below, as well as links to donate to each hospital.
As we continue to Make A Mark as part of our responsible business strategy, this four-day tour allowed us to surprise children and give them the opportunity to see a Formula One car up close, as well as view replica items such as a steering wheel, boots and gloves.
The first stop of our tour was in Glasgow at the Royal Hospital for Children, where Aston Martin Aramco development driver Jak Crawford joined us to meet children, provide insights into what it's like to drive a Formula One car and give children a personal tour of his helmet. While at the hospital, we visited young patients to hand out gifts.
We then made our way to Leeds Children's Hospital to provide children with gifts such as mini helmets and stickers, as well as an exciting colouring competition with a prize of team merchandise signed by Jak.
At Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity, Jessica Hawkins, Head of F1 Academy and Driver Ambassador, met with and brought joy to the patients, families and staff. We were also joined by Aston Martin Lagonda Chief People Officer Simon Smith and Michael Straughan OBE, Executive Consultant to the CEO, for a range of activities, including opportunities for children to meet the 'Aston Man' and draw and colour on a white Aston Martin DBX SUV called ‘Doodle Car’. We also handed out family packs for children.
On 13 November, we headed to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where Jessica visited the hospital wards to meet children and deliver gifts.
The tour concluded on 14 November at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. There, children had the opportunity to see the show car, learn more about it from Jessica and team personnel and engage in a range of fun activities.
