Together, we create

One hour, one room, one F1 car. No rules. What would you create? We invited creators from both sides of the Atlantic to make their mark by giving them unrestricted access to an Aston Martin F1 car ahead of the United States Grand Prix.

UK-based creators Becky Garner, Oska Zaky, Harry Steele, Tom Wright, Tom Jens and Haaris Ashraf joined us to create a series of stunning videos and photographs with an Aston Martin F1 car. They reflect on their story, their creations and the chance to collaborate with AMF1...

"Being a creator, and sharing something you're passionate about, is nerve-wracking. You have a lot of internal talks with yourself to get the confidence to share it, and then to prepare for the validation from other people. It's scary, putting your work into the atmosphere. But you have to have the self-belief and the confidence and keep going."

"In our industry, collaboration is key. It's great that Aston Martin F1 is so keenly working with its fans and creators to produce work as a team. If it was just one person, it would be boring, as it's just one point of view. We're able to collaborate to make something valuable for everyone."

"Getting positive reactions and responses about something you've put your heart into – even if it's just from your mum or your friends – is always incredible. When you're being creative, there's no limit – no one questions our age or anything."

"We had a rough plan for the photoshoot, but we wanted to leave a lot of it down to experimentation. We'd never even seen a Formula One car before, so we used the excitement we felt as an element of our creation."

"Social media is both good and bad for creativity. Without it, my profile wouldn't have blown up, but you risk judging yourself by the numbers you get. With your friends and family around you who can support you and care for you; it helps with that vulnerability. You've just got to put your work out there and keep pushing."

"Creativity in everything, including Formula One, is a huge plus; we need more of it in this world. Bringing people together in a collective spirit like Aston Martin F1 is doing, in a way that helps everyone feel more connected, is always a good thing. Adding different mindsets and outlooks on life into a brand, and into a team, helps create a better experience for everyone."

"I didn't pick up a camera until I was 24 and in the army. I wanted something better than my iPhone 7 to capture where I was travelling. I learned how to use it on YouTube, and that sparked the interest for me. It wasn't until the first coronavirus lockdown that my friend suggested I go and take some photos of his car, so I did my first photoshoot with him. Then as soon as I got home, I spent thousands on new equipment – I've gone for it since then."

"I wanted to focus on the iconic British Racing Green of the AMF1 car. I've used green colours and lighting to paint the car and captured the process of creating the images on video, too. I love the art of creating, and I want people to watch the video and appreciate it with their own interpretation. They don't need to feel a certain way; that's the beauty of it."

"Growing up, I was never typically creative. I always admired good visuals and I enjoyed going to local car meets; there were so many photographers there, but not many doing video. So I thought I'd give that a go, and one thing led to another. I kept networking and developing, and now I work with supercar brands and work on private events and photoshoots."

"My motto is just to keep grinding. Don't stop – everyone knows me by that. I got to the photoshoot after a 10-hour flight from LA! Work as hard as you can, and eventually, the timing will work out and things with align and fall into place. There's definitely an element of being in the right place at the right time."

Together, we create.

Together, we create. Last week, we invited several UK and US based #F1 content creators to come and let loose their creativity, giving them a blank canvas and an AMR22 to work with.

What followed was a true display of passion and creativity, with each bringing their own flair and unique approach to their content. Stay tuned to see the creators' content showcased on our channels this week.
