Together with our title partner, Aramco, we invited local Shanghai students to a day of immersive STEM learning and karting ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix.
In the build-up to the Chinese Grand Prix last weekend, we teamed up with our title partner, Aramco, to inspire the next generation.
Together, we're breaking down barriers to provide access to STEM and F1 opportunities to all and in Shanghai, following the launch of an Aramco supported karting initiative in Saudi Arabia, we welcomed students to a day of STEM learning, before they were then given the opportunity to get behind the wheel at a local Shanghai karting circuit.
The students' day began with a visit to the Shanghai International Circuit and our garage, where they met Driver Squad members Jessica Hawkins and Pedro de la Rosa, as well as our mechanics.
They had the chance to meet Aston Martin Aramco team members and ask them questions in the Chinese Grand Prix paddock, learning first-hand about what it takes to work in F1.
The students then headed to Peak Racing Karting to partake in a STEM education afternoon, where they were taught more about opportunities in motorsport and F1, and how the door is open for anyone that wants to pursue a career in racing.
Finally, the students hit the track for a karting masterclass alongside Jessica and Pedro, putting into practice some of what they had learned.
Watch the video below to discover how we inspired and educated the next generation of STEM and motorsport talent in Shanghai with Aramco's global karting initiative.
