On a weekend when our heroes in the garage took centre stage, #IAMSTORIES | INSIDER shadowed Scott Taggart, Number One Mechanic on Lance Stroll’s car, to bring you the inside story.
Join us behind the scenes to discover how both car crews came together to defy the odds in Melbourne and learn what a race weekend involves for a Number One Mechanic in a Formula One Team.
In the face of various challenges throughout an incident-packed weekend, the team worked tirelessly to give both Lance and Sebastian the best possible opportunity to perform on track, with Scott and his teammates at the heart of a busy few days in the garage.
The role of a No. 1 Mechanic
In the latest episode of #IAMSTORIES | INSIDER, we go behind the scenes to see the incredible efforts behind getting Sebastian and Lance's cars back on the track for the Australian Grand Prix.
After an impressive turnaround to repair damage to both AMR22 cars incurred during FP3, Lance and Sebastian were full of praise for the team in giving them the chance to get out on track for Qualifying and push for a lap time:
“Today is about the team: the boys and girls did an amazing job to get both cars out on track for qualifying,” said Sebastian, while Lance added: “More than anything, I want to say thank you to the team for their incredible hard work today. It was not easy to get the car ready for qualifying, but they managed it.”
From heroics in the garage to meeting the fantastic local fans and a taste of Australian cuisine, this week’s INSIDER takes you behind the scenes of our weekend in Melbourne as you’ve never seen it before. We’re proud to bring you on our journey with us as #WeClimbTogether.
