To mark the launch of Generation 3 and Aramco Americas' 50th anniversary, we teamed up with our title partner to host an inspiring STEM event at the Ion Institute in Houston.
In the build-up to the United States Grand Prix, we teamed up with Aramco and Rice University to celebrate innovation and inspire the next generation of engineers with a series of panel discussions and a live show run of the AMR22 at the Ion Institute in Houston.
As part of the launch of Generation 3, a programme designed to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), innovate new technologies and deliver real-world impact, our 'Race to Innovate' event saw us joined by STEM students from Rice University and patrons form the Ion, as well as the Mayor of Houston, as we shined a light on innovation and partnership – showcasing the the work we've been doing with Aramco.
Attendees heard from members of our team, including Aston Martin Performance Technologies Engineering Director Claudio Santoni and Aston Martin Aramco development driver Jak Crawford, who shared their thoughts and experiences from working in motorsport.
And, after completing an exhilarating demo run through the streets of Houston – an area Jak grew up in – the American racer took to the wheel of the AMR22 to perform some donuts outside the Ion Institute.
