The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosted three days of running in Spain, and it provided the team with an opportunity to learn all about the brand-new AMR22 ahead of the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 20.

Day Three

18:00 - Testing in Barcelona comes to a close after three days at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Thank you for reading, and make sure you're following @AstonMartinF1 on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram to get the latest from the team.

You can also join I / AM, our free-to-join membership programme, for exclusive perks.

17:30 - Here's the headline stats from our testing in Barcelona. Between them, Lance and Sebastian completed 296 laps across the three days, which makes up a total of 1,377.880km.

17:00 - As the day heads into its final hour, we wanted to thank you, the fans, for joining us for every moment of our testing in Barcelona.

The 2022 season draws ever closer and we know the journey ahead will challenge and test us all, presenting new battles and hills to climb as we take on the sport's biggest technical revolution for many years.

As we look to build on the foundations of our comeback season, remember that you're on this climb too, every step of the way.

We started climbing in 1914 and never looked back. We Climb Together.

16:30 - We have an update for you regarding the AMR22.

Despite the team's best efforts, we will not be running again today.

We'd like to thank the team for all their hard work. We go again in Bahrain.

14:50 - We have another update for you regarding the AMR22: there was an oil leak which caused a small fire, and led to Sebastian stopping on track. The team is continuing to investigate the source of the issue.

14:30 - If you're wondering why the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya appears to be soaked, your eyes aren't deceiving you. The track has been watered to allow drivers and teams to experience wet weather running before the season starts.

14:15 - The test has been hugely important for the drivers and teams in understanding the technical regulations. But just comprehensive are they? What were the challenges over the winter? We explain all in our tech video.

14:00 - The afternoon session begins.

13:45 - That's Sebastian's week in Barcelona wrapped up, and here's his take on testing.

13:00 - The session comes to an end. We can confirm that Sebastian stopped on track and caused the last red flag. The team is on its way to recover the AMR22.

12:54 - There is another red flag, which likely means the end of the session.

12:45 - There's just 15 minutes remaining before the lunch break. Lance will take over driving duties in the afternoon.

12:30 - Don't forget: our official TikTok channel will take you behind the scenes of this week's testing in Barcelona, so make sure you follow for exclusive content.

12:24 - Sebastian's now on track and seeking to add to his laps in his final session with the AMR22 before testing in Bahrain.

11:00 - Sebastian's returned to the garage as we head into the second half of the morning's session.

10:45 - Sebastian's joining a relatively quiet track to begin his latest run. Clean air and plenty of space is welcome, though there are benefits to running around other cars as it allows real-world simulation of similar scenarios to the ones drivers encounter in races.

10:35 - It's not long until the season begins in Bahrain. Are you ready? Register to become an I / AM member today and get access to the most exclusive, rewarding and inclusive fan community on the grid.

10:10 - Sebastian's back on track.

10:05 - We're back underway as the session goes green.

10:00 - The cause of the red flag was a car stopped on track and we're still waiting for it to be recovered before the session can resume.

09:50 - There's a red flag out on track, although Sebastian was already in the pitlane at that point.

While we wait for the session to resume, why not get up to speed with F1's new technical revolution? Our six-part series shines a light on the key areas of change.

08:40 - Time for a weather update: it's 12 degrees celsius this morning and a little bit cloudy. Consistent good weather has been ever-present this week in Barcelona, which is exactly what the teams need to conduct plenty of running. Let's hope we haven't just jinxed it...

08:30 - Hello and welcome back to our live coverage from Barcelona. It's the final day of testing in Spain, so one last chance to rack up the laps and miles.

Sebastian is first in the car today and Lance then takes over for the afternoon.

Across the two days so far, that's 248 laps and a total of 1154.44 km. That's almost the same distance as driving from our Silverstone HQ to Paris and back. Not that it's a trip we often make...

18:03 - Sebastian takes the opportunity to a practice start before heading back to the garage.

18:00 - And that's a wrap on today's running. We'll bring you the key numbers from today momentarily.

17:45 - 15 minutes to go on the penultimate day of testing in Barcelona.

15:25 - He's back in the garage for now, so why not use the lull in proceedings to get fully up to speed with the key areas of the new technical regulations.

Featuring insight from key technical figures, this six-part series shines a light on the technical features underpinning Grand Prix racing this year.

15:15 - Sebastian is one of only three drivers on track at the moment, so he's taking advantage of space and clean air to add to his tally.

14:45 - Time for a weather update: it's a much warmer 16 degrees celsius this afternoon. It's still somewhat cloudy and there's a little wind, but we can't complain too much.

Construction is ongoing and you can get the latest on the project in this video.

12:24 - A red flag has been shown for an incident elsewhere, the first of testing so far. Lance is now returning to the garage as per standard procedure.

12:20 - Lance continues to put the AMR22 through its paces, racking up the laps in the process.
