Aston Martin Aramco makes a pitstop at Silverstone Primary School

In British Grand Prix week, the sleepy village of Silverstone reverberates to the noise of horsepower and racegoers. We stopped off at the local primary school to meet the students.

In the build-up to the British Grand Prix, we travelled a short distance from the AMR Technology Campus to Silverstone CE Primary School to surprise local children with a very special 'pitstop'.

The school, just a stone's throw away from our Silverstone home and the legendary racetrack, got even closer to the Formula One action as the children got hands-on with the F1 car, a steering wheel, racing gloves and even our trophy from the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix.

Aston Martin Aramco Head of F1 Academy and Driver Ambassador Jessica Hawkins was also at the school to meet with the children, helping to inspire the next generation of motorsport fans.

The local pupils showed their support for the team ahead of our home race by creating posters to wish us good luck. The posters were then transformed into a banner and hung around the perimeter of the school.

A big thank you to the children of Silverstone Primary School for this heart-warming show of support and creativity.

The school visit forms part of our ongoing commitment to the local community, a key pillar of our Make A Mark manifesto. Since we returned to Formula One in 2021, we've been committed to making a positive impact in the communities where we live, work, and race, with a key focus on inspiring and educating the next generation.

"It was great to visit Silverstone CE Primary School and surprise the pupils with one of our Formula One cars," said Jessica.

"This small village is recognised globally as being the home to one of the world's greatest racetracks, and it's also where the AMR Technology Campus is based, so it's really special to be able to show the local children what we do. I really hope we've inspired some of these pupils to get involved with motorsport in the future."

Jessica Hawkins was at Silverstone Primary School to provide insights into the world of F1.

"This has was a truly memorable experience for our pupils, bringing the world of Formula One right to our playground," added Silverstone CE Primary School Head Teacher James Bloomfield.

"Our children were delighted to see their good luck posters transformed into an amazing banner too. We're incredibly grateful to Aston Martin Aramco for this inspiring opportunity and we look forward to the relationship evolving between Silverstone Primary School and our local Silverstone-based F1 team."

This special 'pitstop' formed part of our home race celebrations, focused on bringing Formula One directly to the fans. The Aston Martin Aramco F1 car continued its journey throughout the weekend, making stops in Birmingham, Manchester, and Wales.
