6 TikToks you will sacrifice sleep for from the Qatar GP

The Qatar Grand Prix was a race unlike any other, and that was after Jessica Hawkins took the wheel of the AMR21 and Aston Martin announced a return to Le Mans.
The Qatar Grand Prix was going to be an unusual race even before drivers were limited to doing 18 lap stints. Enormously hot, our first Sprint under lights, and a brand-new surface to learn in the single hour of practice – this weekend proved to be a tough ask for the drivers, and one unlike anything F1 has ever seen before.
With a host of TikToks, we gained a new perspective on last weekend's race and beyond – with Jessica Hawkins reacting to her debut Formula One track test, and the announcement of Aston Martin's return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Fresh from her test at the Hungaroring in the AMR21, we had AMF1 Team Driver Ambassador Jessica Hawkins with us in Qatar. The buzz surrounding Jess' laps in Budapest resonated a long way from the racetrack, given she was the first woman to test a modern Formula One car in five years. It’s a big step in her development, and for us, it’ll be very useful for her work in the simulator, as a team ambassador and working in our F1 Academy programme.
Qatar was a tough race for everyone trackside – but particularly for the drivers and crew members in the fireproof overalls.
The drivers perhaps have the worst of it, given the tight confines of the cockpit and the proximity of the engine (behind) and the energy store (below).
Fernando was suffering with a scorching seat and wanted us to throw some water or ice in the cockpit, but there are rules about adding fluid and weight to the car mid-race so he had to brave the conditions. It soon became clear that every driver was enduring the heat.
This isn't a new phenomenon, however; here's how they cooled drivers down in the early days of the World Championship.
These are exciting times at our Technology Campus and, courtesy of Aston Martin's TikTok, we've got a look behind the scenes at the press conference that made headlines around the world.

Finally, we have the sonorous V12 engine that powers the Valkyrie AMR Pro. This powertrain produces 1,000bhp and helps ensure the Valkyrie is very much at home on the racetrack.
Aston Martin Performance Technologies, also based at the AMR Technology Campus in Silverstone, will harness that power for use in the prototype Valkyrie for endurance racing competition in 2025.
