Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team and global partner Crypto.com are bringing fans closer to the glittering world of international motorsport with an NFT drop that celebrates the launch of the grand prix team's 2022 race car, the AMR22.
Via Crypto.com/NFT, fans will be given the chance to own digital renders of individual components from the recently unveiled machine, which will be driven by Lance Stroll and four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel in this year's FIA Formula One World Championship.
Showcasing AMF1's engineering intensity
Huge emphasis has been placed on this year's new technical solutions following a massive redrafting of the regulations ahead of the 2022 season.
Cited as 'the biggest-ever rule-change in F1 history', it has challenged and inspired engineers and aerodynamicists up and down the pit-lane to optimise their cars for this year's race calendar, which kicks off in Bahrain on March 20.
This increased focus on engineering has been the inspiration for AMF1's suite of four new NFTs, which focuses on separate critical components on the new car – the front wing, the rear wing, the steering wheel and the halo.
Each asset was painstakingly crafted from original data sourced directly from the team's design office.
AMR22: Tech insights
The new era of Formula One has arrived. Designed to produce better racing, and heralding the return of ground effect, the AMR22 represents F1's biggest design revolution in decades.
Scaled NFT assets and unique collectible
The NFT drop is scaled across three distinct tiers – Accelerate, Slipstream and Velocity – which escalate in exclusivity and unlock different rewards at different price-points.
Fans who collect all four component NFTs will also be offered the opportunity to unlock and purchase a special-edition asset, the full AMR22 model.
This year's expanded collection follows the popularity of the initial NFT drop in 2021, which made Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team one of Crypto.com NFT's top creators – with over $2,000,000 in sales.
As an additional reward, all Crypto.com NFT collectors who hold one of those original assets at the snapshot date will be offered a complimentary NFT as a thank-you for their support of the original collection.
A sustainable partnership
This latest NFT collection is the result of a partnership which is committed to sustainability.
In developing technology and innovation that drive progress on track, the team can also use those same resources to deliver more efficient and sustainable solutions – for its own business, and in conjunction with our global partners and suppliers.
The team is proud to partner with Crypto.com, which has announced plans to become carbon-negative across its entire organisation via a multi-phased approach.
Last year's release remains one of Crypto.com NFT's most successful NFT drops, and original owners of those NFTs will be gifted one of this year's pieces as a special thank you.
Rob Bloom, Chief Marketing Officer Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team, said: "Our first NFT drop of the 2022 season builds on the foundations we established with Crypto.com NFT at the beginning of last year, when we gave fans the chance to own the first new footage of an Aston Martin grand prix car on-track for more than six decades.
"This year, we further embraced the concept, conceiving and building four unique and collectible assets that showcase the incredible design and engineering of the AMR22 car and its components, as well as an additional unlockable only available to fans who have purchased all four original pieces.
"Last year's release remains one of Crypto.com NFT's most successful NFT drops – and original owners of those NFTs will be gifted one of this year's pieces as a special thank-you for their original support.
"We are really looking forward to the reception of this all-new collection."
