The atmospheric Circuit Zandvoort produced one of Formula One's best festival vibes across the season, but it also gave photographers the opportunity to encompass that atmosphere within their pictures.
Within the sand dunes, surrounded by a sea of orange, Zandvoort and its unique characteristics treated us to brilliant photography both on the track and behind-the-scenes.

"It was a lovely, sunny afternoon at Zandvoort. The garages face west, and the sun shines directly into them during the afternoon.
"Here, I've used this to highlight Lance leaving the pits, keeping the rest of the garage in shadow, to create this clean shot."

"Using an extension tube allows you to focus much closer on the driver, almost creating a macro effect.
"It really works well here to highlight Sebastian's eye while he was sitting in the garage."

"I really like the shadows from the fences at the top of the banking in this shot.
"It helps to guide your eye through the picture as Lance drives through the spectacular final corner of the circuit."

"Shooting close to the metallic finish of the car helps to create these cool reflections from the overhead light gantry.
"Using a wide-open aperture and focusing on Lance's eyes shows the intensity in his face as he prepared for the race."

"I used a wide-angle lens here to snap Seb jumping into the car. It's great for capturing all of the sponsors' logos on the nose cone, but also shows just how tight the garages are at Zandvoort!"

"This is from the inside of the first banked corner (turn three) high up on one of Zandvoort's sand dunes.
"Using a very slow shutter speed of just 1/10th of a second to show a sense of speed, and with the fans in orange in the grandstand above, this creates a blurred band of colour as Seb takes on one of the most unique corners on the calendar."
