While we let the anticipation build to the moment the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team reveals its 2021 challenger, we’re stepping back into the past!
It’s been over 60 years since the legendary Aston Martin brand graced a Formula One World Championship grid and the journey began in 1959 with the DBR4.
In 1955, Aston Martin boss David Brown launched an ambitious plan to take on the best in both Formula One and the World Sportscar Championship.
By 1957, the DBR4 had begun testing and it would make a promising race debut by finishing second in the non-championship 1959 BRDC International Trophy event through Roy Salvadori.
Glimpse into our history
While the DBR4 would eventually prove out of step with its rivals, it remains a stunning machine that illustrates the rich history of Aston Martin – so it’s only right that we showcase it on track!
