We have a new opportunity to be part of the Finance team in the role of Group Financial Accountant.
In this role you will be required to:
- Support the Group Financial Controller with the Financial Accounting & Taxation function
- Maintain and improve the financial accounting capability of the company giving confidence to the team’s stakeholders regarding integrity of financial reporting
- Deliver the monthly accounting and reporting cycle for P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet
- Produce monthly reports and analysis as required to meet the demands of Senior Management
- Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Management of the Group’s fixed asset register, depreciation policies and associated accounting
- Management and reporting of the Group’s lease accounting
- Responsible for submission of all National Statistics surveys
Financial Accounting
- Be the technical expert on all Financial Accounting matters, using external advisors as required
- Ensure the generation of Financial Statements in line with FRS102 for group consolidation and all subsidiaries
- Prepare forward looking analysis of upcoming changes to accounting standards and ensure their implementation
- Prepare the annual review and analysis of competitor team financial results
Statutory audit
- Delivery of a robust and efficient audit process in line with group reporting timescales, including FIA Financial Regulations
- Preparation of position papers on complex or judgemental audit issues with the support of the Group Financial Controller
- Key contact with external auditors
- Support the FIA Financial Regulations audit process
Financial Controls
- Support on organisational adherence to financial risk management
- Develop, implement & maintain Accounting Policies
- Ensure robust, resilient, efficient and enabling financial controls are in place across the whole organisation

Insurance and Foreign Exchange
- Support the maintenance of adequate insurance for the AMR Performance Group, covering both F1 activities and Non-F1 activities
- Engagement and interaction with operational stakeholders across the business to ensure robust data is maintained to support adequate insurance coverage
- Leadership, management and motivation of a team of two direct reports
- Assist the Group Financial Controller, and other members of the finance team, with ad-hoc requests as required.

Qualifications
Experience
- Significant financial accounting and taxation experience with some exposure to international taxation regimes (minimum of five years)
- Experience of R&D Tax Credit regimes
- Supporting and advising on complex financial issues
- Experience of working with professional advisors
Knowledge and skills
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities and comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels
- Numeracy and an eye for detail, capable of working quickly to a high standard of accuracy
- Communicate information effectively verbally and in writing with use of graphical tools as necessary
- Expert in use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- High integrity and accountability, delivering on tasks
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritising own work and the work of the team in an organised and accurate manner within tight deadlines, keeping calm and focussed
- Knowledge of working within professional accounting standards and legislation and their application
- Enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities
